The Nephrology department plays an important role in intensive care by providing critical care nephrology care to ICU patients with acute renal failure, volume abnormalities, or electrolyte and acid base disorders. Dialysis is available for critically ill patients who cannot be transferred to the main Dialysis unit.
A Dialysis Unit is available in the department, and the kidney specialist physicians are supported by well-trained nursing staff who are experienced in dealing with patients who are suffering from kidney problems.
